Alessandro, can you tell us about your journey into hospitality?
What inspired you to pursue this path, and how did you come to be part of the family business?

My journey in the world of hospitality began very early. When I was 15, I used to spend summer afternoons at Villa del Borgo doing my homework alongside my mother. This allowed me to see this job for the first time and sparked my passion for the world of hospitality.  A few years later, after I finished my bachelor’s in economics, I had the opportunity to experience this work firsthand, and from that moment on, I knew it was what I wanted to do in my life.

What is your role at Relais Villa del Borgo, and what do you enjoy most about it?

What are your day-to-day responsibilities, and what aspects of your work bring you the most satisfaction?

• At Villa del Borgo, my main role is to welcome guests and assist them in planning their vacation. From the moment they step through the front door, my only goal is to ensure they have an unforgettable experience in the Langhe and Monferrato!  

Additionally, thanks to the AIS second-level sommelier course I attended, I also take care of selecting the wines served during our aperitifs and brunches on the terrace.

Relais Villa del Borgo is known for its personal touch. How does being a family-run hotel influence the guest experience?
What do you think sets the villa apart from larger establishments?

I believe that the family atmosphere of our business can truly be a valuable addition to our guests’ stay. Unlike large hotels, where guests are just numbers, here we have the opportunity to build a genuine friendship with them. In many cases, this friendship lasts over time and goes beyond their stay in Canelli.  By getting to know you more closely, we can create a tailor-made experience based on your passions, making your stay truly unique.
