Patrizia, thank you so much for an excellent stay at your beautiful boutique hotel. We have enjoyed every single day. You have a brilliant touch of making this beautiful place a unique place to stay at.
The interior and the decor are brilliant choices. This combined with your sweetness and flair for good karma makes this a fantastic place to stay at in Canelli!
We are for sure coming back – and have already started to recommend Villa del Borgo to friends and family.
This is the way a boutique hotel should be run with absolute personal service. The attention to detail is impeccable thanks to Patrizia and her husband. We can only agree with all the glowing reviews before us that the way in which this family have renovated this very old villa is amazing and the choice of building materials, fittings and fixtures must have taken much time and planning to arrive at this level of quality. We loved the breakfast and the room it was served in along with the way the table was set and the attention to detail. Patrizia, we wish you only the best in your fine hotel and only hope we are lucky enough to visit you again soon.
We dropped by villa del Borgo as we were heading for Canelli Castle by foot. We were very thirsty due to the heat and the challenging walk. We asked whether we could have a drink at the terrace and Patrizia was so friendly and served a wonderful Moscato d’Asti and soft drinks for the kids. Patricia told us the story behind Villa del Borgo and we were given a short tour. We were so impressed about the refurbishment of the beautiful old house and the atmosphere that we decided to change our booking from the nearby agriturismo to Villa del Borgo. We had a wonderful stay and we highly recommend that you visit this place if you are going to Canelli. It is such an amazing place and everything is done in a consistent style – from food to the decor of the rooms.
Villa del Borgo is a small family run hotel with a nice warm and welcoming intimacy but it’s also a highly sophisticated design hotel. The minimalistic simplicity of an old monastery meets an understated yet extreme luxury in every detail of the renovated building and surroundings.
Villa del Borgo radiates what the French call ‘le sel de la vie’ that special something that gives life its taste and perhaps meaning: the beauty and serenity of the hotel, the stunning view of the landscape, the shimmering shade beneath the fig tree near the pool, the sweet smell of homemade cake, the beautiful bedding against your skin and last but not least the sincere welcome from the owner, Patrizia, who gives life to this unique hotel.
Everything about our stay was perfect. There are only 7 rooms and whilst fully booked during our stay we still felt as if we were in our own private villa. Our room was beautiful, fresh, spacious, light and with windows and a balcony overlooking the hillside to the town of Canelli below and the hills beyond. The enormous bed is luxuriously comfortable as was the room itself. The ultra modern bathroom had a huge high tech shower and the towels were large and fluffy.
Breakfast in the 16th Century part of the building was a feast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, breads, cake, ham off the bone, cheeses, and eggs and hot beverage of your choice. There is no restaurant for lunch or dinner but there are many to choose from in Canelli or the surrounding little nearby towns. The owner Patricia was the perfect host and happy to help with suggestions and bookings, and any other enquiries.
We were here on a wine business trip and regretted not having enough downtime to really savour the serenity and beauty of the place and the quaint environs. Next time, for sure….. This would be a perfect place for a romantic retreat, or with the family.
